The discussion focused on current issues relating to the further growth of the Russian-Brazilian strategic partnership. The two leaders reaffirmed their
mutual interest in building up political dialogue and mutually beneficial
cooperation in trade, agriculture, energy and industrial cooperation.

touched upon several international issues. Vladimir Putin thanked our Brazilian
partners for supporting the priorities of Russia’s BRICS chairmanship and briefed the other party on preparations for the BRICS summit in Kazan scheduled
for October 22–24. Both sides underscored their commitment to continuing joint
work in key areas of cooperation within BRICS, including in the financial
sector. They also emphasised readiness to deepen coordination both in the G20,
which Brazil chairs this year, and on other multilateral platforms.

Lula da Silva reaffirmed Brazil’s interest in helping find solutions to resolve
the Ukraine conflict, and Vladimir Putin laid out Russia’s principled
assessments on this matter.
The leaders discussed bilateral contact schedule
and agreed to meet during the Kazan BRICS summit.
